I've always been a fan of at home beauty treatments. Partly because; I enjoy being at home, cooking, arranging flowers, listening to music, playin around on the net. In any case, I figured now, with the recession and all was a good time as any to share my at home beauty treatments!
How you like me now? Watch this space, I got a lot of tips. :)
First things first. Kitchen cupboard facial masks.
Apply masks to cleansed skin, remove immediately if you feel any discomfort, rinse with warm water then moisturize.
Facial Exfoliator: 2 tsp oatmeal, 2 tsp heavy cream
Apply in a circular motion to the face and neck, then rinse.
Cleansing Mask: 2 tsp chickpea flour, 1 tsp water, 1 tsp honey
Mask should be thick and sticky apply to problem areas, leave on for 7 mintues then rinse.
Oatmeal Scrub: 2 tbs oatmeal, 1 tbs almond oil
Suitable for the entire body, apply in a circular motion then rinse
Acne Mask: 1 heaping tsp chickpea flour, 1 tsp heavy cream, 2 tsp water, pinch of salt
Mask should be thick and creamy, apply to skin and leave on for 10 mintues before rinsing off
Lemon Mask (irregular pigmentation, acne + excess hair): 1 tsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp honey
Eczema Mask: 2 tsp chickpea flour, 2 tsp almond oil, 1/4 tsp salt
Mask should be smooth/liquid consistency apply to affected areas for 10 minutes, then rinse
Nose Mask: 1/2 tsp chickpea flour, 1/2 tsp honey, a pinch of salt, few drops of lemon juice
Cover nose/cheeks with mask leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse.
FYI:
Lemon juice is a great cleanser with antibacterial properties. It's also a useful natural bleaching agent and helps to restore skin's acid balance.
Salt is a powerful cleanser and neutralizer of bacteria, as well as a natural exfoliator.
If you're alleric to pollen/grasses, don't use honey in your masks.
